FORD GT40 NO.11 6TH DAYTONA 24H 1967 J. ICKX – D. THOMPSON

This former Team Essex car was entered by John Wyer at the Daytona 24 Hours in 1967 under the Gulf colors. It was in the hands of a young kid, Jacky Ickx, and Dick Thompson, a dentist who was used to endurance races. They finished 6th and won the Sports category. A few months later, at the wheel of a Mirage, the same duo won the 1000km of Spa.
