The Unequal Brother

Zunder was the dream of the brothers Nelson José and Eligio Oscar Bongiovanni, two entrepreneurs who in the early years of the 60's managed to build their own car factory in the city of Río Cuarto.

Its most emblematic product was the Zunder 1500. A small car with a very personal design that had the main characteristic of being equipped with an efficient air-cooled Porsche engine. The Bongiovanni brothers managed to interest the prestigious German brand and got a supply of engines for their car with a fiberglass body.

Since the Zunder 1500 did not have the expected commercial success, the brothers of Río Cuarto tried to create a hit with the launch of the Zunder Cupé

This harmonious sports car clearly inspired by the design of the Karmann Ghia came at a difficult economic time and the small family business could only build two units. In the year 1963 the factory closed its doors but it left the fans of the cars and the inhabitants of Río Cuarto a reason to be proud.
