You have heard us say it before. CMC has done it again. Even though this model is related to the SSKL Mille Miglia winner that came out a few years ago, it looks and feels like a completely different car. As with the Bugatti's and Alfa's of the day, by the addition or removal of fenders and lights, one could enter Grand Prix events or sports car races. Whereas an Alfa or Bugatti still seem the same car either way, the big Mercedes is transformed into a completely different animal. Its 1931 German Grand Prix victory took 4 hours and 38 minutes, at an average speed of over 100 km/h! This was achieved with both driver Rudolf Caracciola and co-driver Wilhelm Sebastion on board at the legendary Nurburgring. An amazing victory and an amazing model.
Also just arrived is the Ed Hugus/Ray Erickson Ferrari Testa Rossa that ran at Le Mans in 1958. Another version of a model we've already seen as well, but unique in its own way. In the white with blue stripes of American-entered cars, this one has red leather seats and small white spats behind the rear wheels to distinguish it from its siblings.
